08-11-2010 Cleantech to China network

Cleantech to China has now been opened up for all Danisk SMEs within the cleantech business.

For Danish SME companies in the cleantech industry it could be beneficial to combine the EU-China Partnership 2010 with participation in the network CleanTech to China. The network offers five seminars and three individual meetings and a study tour to China. This will give participants greater knowledge and experience about market opportunities in China within the Cleantech industry, cultural barriers, funding opportunities, grants, costs, etc. The outcome of the individual meetings will be a strategy paper / action plan for further proceedings. This provide the optimal conditions for entering the Chinese market.

As an added benefit for participants, one of the seminars will be placed at the EU-China Partnership 2010. This allows participants  to make contact with potential Chinese partners early in the process.

Cleantech to China is organized by InterFocus in collaboration with the Danish Export Association and Business Link Central Denmark.

06-15-2010 Press release June 2010:

Chinese businesses is coming to Aalborg

Small and medium sized enterprises within the sectors of food, energy and environment are participating in the event "EU-China Partnership 2010" in Aalborg.

Chinese and European companies within the sectors of food, food processing, energy and environment will meet on the 6th to 8th of September 2010 in Aalborg. Enterprise Europe Network and North Denmark EU-office, together with a range of partners, is responsible for the event subtitled: "Matchmaking, Innovation and Global Networking."

The Chinese companies are mainly from the Yangtze Delta Region, which is one of the regions in China with the greatest growth. The region consists of the two provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and the City of Shanghai with a total of 94 million inhabitants.

- There is a huge development in the sectors of food and food processing. The region is home to China's large fishing industry, and there is an increasing focus on food security and modern and environmentally friendly production methods, says Stig Berg Norsk, head of the North Denmark EU-office.

China is the world's second largest consumer of energy, and is now focusing on energy and environmentally friendly solutions. The Yangtze Delta Region accounts for 24 percent of China's industrial production and attracts 49 percent of all foreign investments in China, so it is natural for the region to be focused on environmental protection and the latest technologies.

In 2009 the export from Denmark to China was some DKK 11 billion, and there is an expected growth of around 16 percent in 2010.

- When it comes to growth through export, Danish and other European companies must look to China. We offer the companies direct meetings, which is an effective way to get a feel of how to do business with Chinese companies. In this way the Danish and European companies will gain access to the gigantic growth in the Chinese marked, says Stig Berg Norsk.

ECP2010 is a matchmaking event based on 30 minute business-to-business meetings, which gives the companies the opportunity to meet with many potential Chinese partners during the three days event.

ECP2010 is organized in cooperation with the Danish Trade Council, World Expo Group Shanghai International Trade Promotion Company Ltd., Aalborg Municipality and The Region of North Denmark. Other partners are the China Fishery Technology Promotion Centre, local business organisations as well as Danish, European and Chinese EEN offices.

In addition to the business meetings there will be arranged a number of company visits for the participants, and several professional European and Chinese organizations will be present in Aalborg.

- We have good experiences with this form of event where you can meet with Chinese companies as well as other European companies within the same sector. It also gives you the opportunity to expand your network in general, says Stig Berg Norwegian and continues:
- The feedback from a similar event in 2004 shows that the participants are extremely satisfied because there is plenty of time for actual matchmaking.
