Scandinavia – China Partnership 2004

SCP2004 was a joint project of the North Denmark EU-office, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and West Sweden. It was organised as a matchmaking event in order to facilitate optimal conditions for European-Asian business co-operation. Approximately 180 companies from China, Sweden and Denmark participated in the event. 1 year after the event, the evaluation showed that:

In addition it appears that some of the agreements are much more exhaustive than expected. In this way 1 merger/acquisition, 3 franchising and 5 joint ventures has so far been a result of the event.

 

According to the participants, the quick meetings and the exchange of business cards have served as an icebreaker and made it much easier for them to contact potential partners in China / Scandinavia. Furthermore the unofficial networking parts of SCP2004 lead to exchange of market information, which also has been highly valued by the participants.

 

Brokerage Event 2, 2007

BE2 was a brokerage event for SMEs in the ICT sector. It involved workshops, project presentations and matchmaking sessions. The success of the event is evident in the feedback received from participants:

Agromatch at Agromek 2009

It is still too early to evaluate the results of the Agromatch at the Agromek in November 2009, but preliminary results, based on the evaluation schemes filled out at the end of the match making sessions, are positive. All the participants were satisfied or very satisfied with the event, and the majority would follow up on more than 50 % of the meetings. Besides the planned meetings, many companies also used the event as a networking opportunity and thereby more than doubled their number of contacts.  

 

An example of a successful matchmaking session was the meeting between a Danish / German slurry segregation company and a Lithuanian subcontractor of pumps and screw conveyors. The meeting was the first contact between the companies and was used for the Danish company to define their needs and requests, which the Lithuanian company could then use in the formulation and calculation of a formal offer later on in the process.
